About Concordia

Concordia is the premier global convener of heads of state, government officials, C-suite executives and leaders from non-profits, think tanks and foundations, dedicated to finding market-driven, cross-sector solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Concordia’s regional initiatives examine the most pressing challenges in a specific area and identify opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

The challenge

Concordia sought to host the first London-based 2025 Concordia Europe Summit, an invitation-only gathering exploring the unique positioning of the city across geographies, policies and investment opportunities.

How the London Convention Bureau helped

The London Convention Bureau proved a valuable partner from day one, advising on timing, location and positioning in order to add value and differentiate from other events taking place across the city, said Hanne LeCount, Executive Director of Concordia.

"The team supported vendor bids and participated in site visits to help us find the perfect location and unique reception moments that achieved our goal of blending historical with modern," LeCount said.

"They were more than just an executor of our vision, but truly a part in the design."

The outcome

Following a series of significant global political shifts affecting the transatlantic community at large, this summit was strategically positioned to examine the region’s approach to facing today’s challenges and opportunities.

The event welcomed a total of 424 attendees, including 63 speakers who joined on stage across three days. These participants came from 38 countries, with the UK leading at 248 attendees.

The summit hosted 24 sessions, totalling more than 19 hours of programming and introduced seven breakout discussions, which brought together 145 participants.

On top of the official programming, 11 off-site activities, including three receptions, gave space for informal, high-value engagement.

This summit secured 22 media hits, 10 press interviews and had four accredited journalists join. Concordia had 10 partners and sponsors across all levels, from core and lead to reception sponsors, plus 50 Concordia members attending.

Concordia also grew its involvement with local London-based businesses and supported women-owned small and medium enterprises from across the UK.

Why Concordia chose London

Concordia chose London for being a historic centre for global leadership, trade and research excellence while hosting some of the world’s most sophisticated financial markets and institutions.

London also stands out for the company as a leading hub for technological innovation, especially in its emerging creative and AI industry. Its multicultural population mirrors its rich history as a global crossroads and drives its current leadership in innovation and inclusive growth.

"Strategically positioned as a bridge between the European Union, North America and Commonwealth countries, and as the capital of a founding NATO member and G7 economy with a record of delivering a robust net zero framework for 2030 and partnerships across the MENA region, London offered a unique platform for fostering cross-sector collaboration and advancing shared global priorities," said LeCount.
