One of the reasons why it’s such a great city for tech is that London has historically been a testbed and launchpad for new technology and innovation.
It was here that the world’s first traffic lights, telegraph, computers and public broadcasting took place.
Some more recent examples include Monzo, Wise, Starling and Revolut, which all started in London and have made waves in the digital banking and payments industries. This makes London a perfect place for events that showcase new, experimental technologies.
Naturally this also places London at the forefront of the next generation of technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), immersive and the experience economy.

London & Partners presented a very thoughtful proposal with high-level accommodation information for the city as a whole, as well as information on the public transportation system. Fiona went above and beyond to accommodate our request to have the hotel RFP sent out directly through London & Partners and to gather all of the proposals/responses.Google

What challenge did you present to the London Convention Bureau?
For our onsite programme in London in 2024 and 2025, the biggest challenge was hotels. We worked with more than 45 hotels, but about 10 of them were unresponsive and the eight hour time zone difference between our North American offices and London didn't help. The hotels near Excel London, where we were hosting our event, also didn't meet the high standards we were looking for.
How did the London Convention Bureau team help?
The London Convention Bureau team supported us to overcome the obstacles with the hotels and make the event planning experience quicker and smoother. Fiona visited every hotel on our list in person, got the answers we needed and within two weeks, we had the final folios from all the hotels.
