The London Dungeon is located on London’s Southbank, a short walk from Waterloo mainline and London Underground stations.

What is the nearest Tube station to the London Dungeon?

The London Dungeon is located on the south bank of the river Thames. The nearest Tube station is Waterloo Station (Jubilee, Bakerloo and Northern lines).

Charing Cross (Bakerloo and Northern lines), Westminster (Circle, District and Jubilee lines) and Embankment (Circle, District, Northern and Bakerloo lines) are also a short walk away.

Several bus routes stop near the London Dungeon: 1, 12, 59, 68, 76, 77, 139, 148, 159, 176, 188, 243, 77 and 381.

Is there an age limit for visitors to the London Dungeon?

The recommended age is 12 years old, while visitors aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years old or over.

Children under the age of five years old will not be admitted, this is due to the slightly scary nature of some of the attractions.

Is the London Dungeon scary?

The London Dungeon is dark, noisy and shows you the scarier side of London’s history.

There are some elements of the experience that are scary and include moments of darkness and occasional jump scares. There are also shows which do not have a scary element and are more light-hearted.

There are areas during the experience that are enclosed, so if you suffer from claustrophobia or panic attacks, speak to a member of the team who will be able to direct you to a more calming area. You can leave the attraction at any time if you feel overwhelmed.

What is the history of the London Dungeon?

The London Dungeon opened in 1974, originally located under the railway arches in Tooley Street. The immersive exhibition, depicting some of the darkest parts of British history, initially began as a free-flow walkthrough attraction with thrilling shows. Over the years, the attraction underwent developments, including the addition of new shows and rides, and has since been re-designed into an actor-led live tour experience.

The London Dungeon moved to the South Bank in 2013, where you can now discover exhibits, interactive shows and gory tales from throughout the 1,000 years of London’s historic past.
